Hello,
How are you?
We’ve been Easter HOLIDAYing here and I totally missed my Sunday Postcard last weekend. OOPS!
I was a bit poopped to be honest post a week of ART CLUBS and various other things. We took it easy and I really quite enjoyed the ‘not looking at my screen’ for the day (how silly that it seems so hard to do).
Instead we dug, planted, potted and pruned in the garden with the birds tweeting. It was lovely. We even planted a new tree. A Silver Birch bargain we snapped up when visiting my sis and dad. Can’t wait to watch it grow.
This week we’ve been on many adventures!
We visited the Planetarium in Greenwich which I can highly recommend.
We had a cultural day mooching round the National Gallery soaking up the work of the Impressionists, followed by park & fountain fun, a busy ramble around the colourful streets of SOHO (the girls were a bit overwhelmed!) then sushi & ice cream…
Finishing with the book launch of the marvellous Zehra Hicks at the brilliant GOSH Comics on Berwick Street.
Zehra’s book is EXCELLENT as always and available to order here.
Mid week we met up with lovely chums Jane Foster & Sarah Horne. We’re all Bologna Book Fair frequenters, usually, but due to this that and the other we didn’t go this year and instead met up for the day to chat, eat and wander along the canal at Little Venice! The girls came too and it was lovely.
We also treated ourselves to a (dangerous) mooch around CASS Art and I stocked up on some much needed FLUORESCENT pink paint. I’ve been testing out some Liquitex Professional Acrylic Gouache. Have never tried before but already LOVE IT!
I dOOdled a quick narrow boat from our walk with it last night and can recommend!
I made this next one using Kitpas (fave), very old Caran D'ache pastels and other bits on my desk, on a piece of pizza packaging (Pizza Express from Tesco I think 😂).
The inside of packaging has the BEST paper for doodling on, and this one even had a window pre cut, which I fashioned into the reflection of the boat in the water.
In other news my dOOdling book CATs is here!
Thanks to all those who’ve ordered theirs already. Looking forward to sharing the CaT dOOdle calmness far and wide!
Available to order in my shop 🤓
“It is just ace - love it!” A happy customer.
“Just as glorious as I imagined it would be!” A happy doodler.
“Lisa Stickley’s ‘A Back-Of-An-Envelope Doodling Book’ is great. So simple, but the creative ideas and prompts are just enough to get me motivated to do a little something every day. It gets you past that blank page anxiety, and right into having a little fun with art instead.” Andrea LoPinto
“It’s a beautiful book that will bring me great joy and calmness, especially when my brain is whirring!” Jane Day
AND last but not least I have a VERY exciting collab’ coming up with my long term friend and AMAZING Textile Designer Kangan Arora.
It’s happening on Wednesday 24th April on ZOOM as usual and is open to all.
Kangan is coming (in real life) to doodle with me and my doodle BUDS in the studio and I can’t wait!
Come along, spread the word and bring friends! OH and COLOUR. LOTS of colour!
Suffice to say we’ve had a very busy but super duper Easter HOLS. I hope you’ve had a good week too.
Back to school tomorrow and fully back to my desk so if you have any questions queries or quandaries then do let me know.
Happy Sunday,
For following along. Please feel free to share and spread the word x
