Hello,
Happy Wednesday!
The sun is out and so is the paddling pool, hooray!
It’s also the…
And with a nod to all the footie going on at the moment, (the builders next door were very excited yesterday afternoon with all sorts of whooping noises dancing through the dusty air), we have a bit of a football theme today.
I had a peek back at a project I worked on a couple of years ago with Marcus Rashford, and re-illustrated a couple of the characters from it, collaged (digitally) onto a detail of a cloud painting of mine. Quite like playing about with collage in photoshop sometimes.
I always draw everything in ‘real life’ first as I love the happy accidents that happen along the way, but once scanned, it’s super fun to be able to quickly try things out on the old computer.
I’m very much a photoshop girl, and am still yet to try pro-create or any other drawing programs like that (although I do have a very basic sketchbook app on my phone which is great for super quick doodles with the one pencil tool I use on it 😂) . Bit scared really. I think I’d miss the physical feeling of painting and drawing, and would be far too clean without the daily paint splatters adorning my arms and clothes! I’d definitely miss the splodges, finger prints and glorious marks that come from a really rough paint brush or felt tip that’s on its last legs.
Anyway, rambling on! Sorry! Here’s the dOOdle challenge of the day:
Sketch a football, but split it in half doodling each half at the opposite edges of your paper.
We’ve done this a few times in my Creative dOOdling workshops recently and it’s becoming a bit of a favourite. Enough of a challenge to take your mind of everything else for a few minutes, and refresh the brain a little bit!
I’d love to see how you do… please please send me your pics. You can message me here:
Send them to my instagram here, fly them by pigeon, or email them here:
I’m clearing out the old and making room for new with paintings, illustrations and original dOOdles with prices starting at £10!
I’ll be switching it on at 6pm this Friday so stay tuned 🤗
Head to the sale section on my website for a Friday shop 🎨
In the mean time have a lovely day and keep sketching!
