I’ve been drawing forever.
Since I could pick up a pencil my mum used to say…
Be it for bags, bedding, stationery or stories. I’ve been a professional ‘creative’ for 24 years
And a doodler for 40 (something-or-other).
Life has its ups and downs.
And some mountains are more challenging to climb than others.
Mine has been an undulating path like many of us.
It was loosing my mum in 2020 that I finally realised drawing has ALWAYS been my go-to.
Not just professionally, but whenever I feel and have felt anxious or stressed as well.
And it all started adding up. Creativity helps others too.
I’ve seen it with my own eyes when hosting workshops over the years.
Folk who come along and take even just a few minutes to sit and ‘do’ afterwards exclaim with surprise, “I feel so much better”.
And so Creative Doodling was born.
We all get stuck and feel overwhelmed sometimes, and I can confidently say ‘creative block’ never disappears.
It’s drawing that loosens me up, stretches the creative strings, unblocks the flow.
And I’m finding more and more that this works for others too.
I regularly set myself ‘warm-up’ projects to help get my brain ticking again.
And guided drawing helps so much with this as it takes away ALL the thinking, allowing you to JUST create.
It’s then that the magic happens, our brains relax and you can start to see the woods for the trees again.
