Hello hello,
How are you?
Sending a very mini update this weekend as it’s been a busy old time of late so the brain is a bit frazzled! Hope you’re busy but not TOO busy too (if you know what I mean). Tricky to get the balance right sometimes isn’t it?
Anyhooooo, we had a good day yesterday with a dance filled morning (post double sleepover with ten hundred pancakes made in the morning to feed hungry mouths) PHEW.
Followed by the biggest one taking her karate exam with fellow karate buddies. They all did very well indeed with merit PLUSES in hand and bright new orange belts.
I’m getting braver with in-situ doodling and watched and sketched the fast moving karate KIDS throughout. It was great fun. I made super simple marks using very basic shapes attempting to capture the positions and movement (which was FAST!).
Once home I used these very scribbly marks and made some, still simple yet quirky doodles onto old paper I’d re-found recently, from when I was at primary school (ancient!). The exercise book covers are all a bit faded and lovely colours to doodle on with paint pens & pencils.
The karate kids really did so well and I enjoyed myself very much too.
I’ve got lots of new work to photograph and add to my shop (which I’m hoping will happen sOOn). In the mean time I’ve been having a bit of a sort out to clear the decks and have added a samples seconds & surplus sale section to my shop (haha, all the SSSSS’s) which is just live and hot off the press.
Have a peek here:
Thinking of everyone today. It can be a hard one for lots of folk. So here’s to the dads. Those who are here, there, with us and those lost to us too.
We’re off with daddy to have a walk about by the river, and to have fish & chips with my dad too.
I hope you have a nice day wherever you are.
Love,
