Hello,
How are you? Wish you were here!
It’s been green for go (STOP - go) with back to school, then the kids off school (SO many BUGS about), back to school again and off, on, upside down and round about here in SE London. A bit like the weather. I mean I had my socks out for a moment there. Then the sun came out again FULL PELT! OH, and as I write its pouring down. See, all over the shop.
There have been lovely meetings/chats/meet ups and there are work projects abound with WONDROUS folk. AND Illustration Club has is back and in full swing again with the littles after school. ALL GO. Love September.
Here are a few bits/bobs and favourites.
At school this week we made some LONDON pictures. I sat on the miniature chairs too and doodled my own picture of The Tower of London. With pink trees.
The Friday after school slot for Illustration Club at school is often a tough one with VERY tired kids, especially the 5 & 6 year olds. AMAZING how ‘interested’ they become when you just quietly sit and get on with some ‘important’ work of your own. I suddenly had a gaggle of very keen doodlers around me all in need of paper and pencils to have a go too. Brilliant.
We all enjoyed drawing more trees afterwards. Pink, of course.
A cuppa for forthcoming open studio planning was had with the fab Charlotte Hardy. She was on route to her studio carrying a very delicate snap dragon picked from her garden. Said studio was reached and she painted this:
Beautiful.
A NEW children’s book shop has opened. The Paper Cat, Herne Hill, SE London.
It is BEAUTIFUL! Crammed to the rafters with incredible books and book related goodies (and smells wonderful too, all new and woody and marvellous) and and and, I LOVE IT.
Lemon Drizzle Cake. We made one yesterday. It was YUM.
Good Food.
