Hello,
How are you? Hope you’re having a wondrous week.
It’s prompt time with the…
And this week it’s a grab your crayons and channel your inner child kind of doodle.
I teach a LOT of kids, and they (usually up to the age of around 8 ish) are fearless. They’re free, energetic and courageous with their drawing. It is SO refreshing, and the marks they make are just WONDERFUL.
Even Picasso agrees:
So this week I’m asking you to remember that feeling of complete joyous naivety, the freedom of a 6 year old with no inhibitions.
Grab a toy (or take your pick from one of the below) and dOOdle it like you don’t care who’s looking. Ideally on the back of a battered envelope with sticky bits on it.
Here’s one I made earlier of Gary Guardsman:
A non-dominant hand is good for this one if you’re unsure. OR holding your pastel at the very end to make it all a bit wonky. OR not looking at your page while you draw.
Whichever way you do it just enjoy that feeling of being FREE and see what happens. OH and don’t spend more than 4 minutes or you’ll start procrastinating, so set the timer. And that’s an order.
EEEP, not sure I feel comfortable being that bossy but am going with it!
Here are some others for a bit of Inspo:
Drawings by me, photos via Pinterest.
My dOOdle bOOK CATS is at the printers (woohooo!) and heading to my studio later this week, YAY!
The winners from last week’s SPOT the difference are Emma Hamilton & Rachel Winsper. Congratulations! Please email over your addresses and one of my new CAT books will be heading your way as soon as they arrive!
Here’s a sneak peek through the keyhole of cats…
I’m super excited.
Happy Wednesday to one and all!
